Arsenal manager Unai Emery predicts his team will not find easy resistance when it comes to Valencia at Mestalla's headquarters for next week's Europa League semi-final second leg.
Arsenal gained valuable capital in this semi-final after winning 3-1 at the first meeting held at the Emirates Stadium on Friday (3/5) early this morning.
The home side conceded first in the 11th minute through Mouctar Diakhaby, but Alexandre Lacazette instantly reversed the position thanks to his two-goal contribution, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed the victory ahead of dispersal.
To BT Sport after the match, Emery said: "In this first leg we wanted good results, even though we knew it was difficult. After the first goal [Valencia] our response was very good, accompanied by calm and enthusiasm. We maximize the moment and goals in the first half give us confidence.
"We want to win and not concede the second goal, but we also have to play. [Our] third goal came at the end of the match, and that was important to us, but this duel is still 50:50.
"Valencia is a good team. They play with strong players in defense and in the midfield sector. They were strong on set pieces, they scored through that situation and we had difficulty facing them.
"We will continue to work hard to improve what we feel can be better, but for 90 minutes we can be happy. Now we have to prepare ourselves for the second leg because it will be very difficult. "
